A student's first ten minutes
Vantura shows you 360 degree video lessons your own instructors filmed. You look around a real space as if you were standing in it.
If the headset is already signed in
Most lab carts are set up this way. Put on the headset, open Vantura, pick a lesson, and watch. Skip to Watching a lesson below.
If you see a six character code
That means the headset needs to be connected to your account once.
- On your phone or laptop, sign in on this site.
- Choose Pair headset.
- Type the six characters shown in the headset.
- Wait a few seconds. The headset signs itself in.
Then enter your class join code, the six character code your instructor gave you. That enrolls you and your class library appears.
You do this once. The headset stays signed in after that.
Watching a lesson
Point at a lesson with your hand and pinch to select it. You do not need controllers.
Each lesson shows one of three labels:
- Downloaded. Ready. Plays instantly and works without Wi-Fi.
- Downloading 40%. Still copying to the headset. Give it a moment.
- Cloud. Not on this headset yet. It starts on its own when the headset is on Wi-Fi.
While a lesson is playing you can:
- Play and pause.
- Recenter, which puts the front of the video wherever you are currently looking. Use this if you are sitting at an angle and the lesson seems to be pointing the wrong way.
- Turn left or right in small steps.
Look around freely. Turn your head, turn your body. There is usually something behind you.
Comfort
You watch from one spot. Nothing moves you around, which is the main thing that makes people feel unwell in a headset. Sit or stand, whichever you prefer.
If you do start to feel off, take the headset off and rest. That is a normal thing to do and not a sign anything is wrong. The lesson pauses on its own shortly after you set it down, and your progress is recorded up to that point.
Things that are working correctly even though they look odd
- Audio keeps going for a few seconds after you take the headset off. It pauses when the headset sleeps, about 15 seconds later.
- The lesson does not restart playing when you put the headset back on. That is deliberate. Press play when you are settled, so you do not miss anything while adjusting the strap.
- “Offline, showing downloaded videos.” The headset is off Wi-Fi. Anything already downloaded plays normally.
If something is wrong
- A lesson is missing. Check you entered the right class join code. Ask your instructor to confirm the lesson is published.
- A lesson stays on Cloud. The headset needs Wi-Fi. Choose Refresh on the home screen once it is connected.
- It asks for a pairing code again. Pair it once more using the steps above.
Do not use Sign out unless someone asks you to. It disconnects the headset and it has to be paired again.
